The Cordish Companies set out to transform a shuttered resort in Bossier City into a premier gaming, dining, and entertainment destination. This ambitious redevelopment required complete rebranding, revitalization, and reconstruction to introduce a state-of-the-art casino experience, elevate guest accommodations, and solidify the property’s position as the region’s top gaming and entertainment venue. The transformation of Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana delivers an unmatched entertainment experience, featuring the first land-based casino in the Bossier City/Shreveport area.
As executive architect of record, KdG, a division of Shive-Hattery, played a pivotal role in translating the Cordish Companies’ vision into a reality, delivering a seamless and impactful transformation. The project team included a talented group of interior design firms that brought creativity and focus to the multiple venues.
KdG reimagined the property’s exterior with bold architectural elements, dynamic lighting, and cutting-edge AV technology, creating a striking visual presence. A key focus throughout the design process was eliminating elements closely tied to the previous owner’s branding. The redesigned guest arrival experience now ensures smooth vehicular access and pedestrian-friendly connections.
A defining feature of the property is the commitment to live entertainment—a hallmark of the Live! brand. The casino now boasts three dedicated live music stages, providing a dynamic lineup of national acts, local talent, and high-energy performances, setting it apart from competitors in the region.
The team reimagined every guest touchpoint—from check-in to last call—infusing excitement, convenience, and comfort throughout the property. The main floor was significantly expanded, and every existing public space underwent a comprehensive renovation. Now, the casino houses over 1,000 gaming positions equipped with the latest gaming technology, ensuring an immersive experience for guests. Additionally, a diverse mix of dining and nightlife options was introduced, featuring five signature restaurants and several feature bars, each bringing new culinary experiences to the region.
The team fully transformed the existing 540-room hotel, enhancing it with luxury suites and premium accommodations. The modern interiors reflect a fresh, forward-thinking design that appeals to a younger, entertainment-driven clientele.
The completion of this transformation took the first riverboat gaming property in the Bossier City/Shreveport area to the first land-based casino in the region. This redevelopment not only enhances the guest experience but also strengthens the local tourism and economic landscape, drawing visitors from across the region and beyond.
